Maria Schimek was born 18 Sept 1871 in "Austria", according to her marriage license. Know that she had the same given and last name as her mother. Her father was John Weis. Have looked and looked in vain for anything about her before she came to IL. Have nothing prior to her first marriage in 1892 to Johannes Verderber in Rock Island, IL. She married Edward Shalla in June of 1900 in Lincoln, IL.

Has anyone any knowledge of my g.grandmother?
