Wondering if this is the same Col Benjamin Symond/Symonds/Simonds (are these surnames related?) that I found in notes for my ggggg grandfather Joseph Barnes:

NOTES for Joseph, Capt.: Rev. War Veteran. Captain Joseph Barnes was Commander of the 1st Lanesbrough Co., Berkshire County Militia in 1776. In 1777 commanded a Co. of Militia under _Benjamin Symond_ that marched to Saratoga on orders of Gen. Gates.
