I started a search on my family tree search. My name is Alexander Thomson Simonds. My first and middle name are my mothers side, but my grandfather is Robinson Simonds. His fathers name is William Robinson Simonds. My grandfathers sister was Marjorie Simonds (who I think was quite a debutant in NYC and area)I think my grandfather's father (Great grandpa) grew up in brooklyn and lived in South Hampton and NYC. Great Granpa William Robinson Simonds was married to Henreitta Jones which was out in Saville Long Island. Here is the problem I'm having.... As story has it our name was changed I think by my Grandfathers Grandmother,(I guess Great Great?) but I don't exactly what it was before that. The spellings my father thinks were Simons, Simmons, simon. But leans towards Simons because his wife wanted to add the "D" so it didn't sound jewish, eventhough we believe it was Scottish or Welsh. I guess back then it mattered. Anyway, maybe I've helped you...maybe you have some leads for me? Thats all i know for now.
