Smith Mitchel Simonds 1868- ?

Does anyone have any information on my great-grandfather, Smith Mitchel? We know he was born in 1868. Father was Sylvester Simonds (Simons). We know he married Lenora Virginia Crunk in 1900 in AR. My grandfather was born in OK in 1903. They moved to Dallas, Texas shortly after that. They divorced sometime around 1904 - 1906? My great-grandmother hated him and told my grandfather very little. She said he was hit by a train when my gf was 5, but we found city directory listings in 1908 & '09. After that he just disappears. Any help to solve mystery would be appreciated!!
