Lawrence B. - WWI, maybe WWII - memorabilia

Located by accident - monogrammed silver brushes mongrammed with "LBS" in leather case and a silver flask monogrammed "Lawrence B. Simonds, USA." At Merchant's Mall, Weaverville, Trinity County, CA at front counter. They are for sale. Internet search reveals that he was a U.S. army officer in WWI and possibly had a descendant by same name in WWII unless he also participated in WWII. Military record online which I found begins in 1896 with letters stored in a Vermont archive (he had been stationed at Ft. Russell, WY.; then a Captain in 1906 San Francisco earthquake assisting with military; then WWI a Colonel in charge of 20th Headquarters Troop which was organized at Camp Sevier, S.C. in August, 1918; then he is recorded as a Lt. Col. in 1920. Then there is a WWII record.
