Name- J. Simonson (Doctor)
Residence-Of Tomah WI --Monroe County
Work-Proprietor of Tomah hospital and well known physician
Date of Birth--May 3, 1853
Place of Birth--Geneva,Switzerland
Date of Death--February 6,1914 (Of dropsy duration a few months.)
Education-In Native land at Marburg Polytechnic School of Science and Mathmatics.
Immigration--At 28 years of age he came to USA
Education in USA-Toledo Medical College,Toledo,Ohio
Career--He came from Wausau to Tomah,Wi established in old buildings a hospital near the high school. In 1895 he purchased the recent hospital property on the north part of the city.He added buildings and gardens. The hospital grounds were one of the most beautiful in Tomah,Wisconsin.
Dr.Simonson was one of the surgeons of the Chicago,Milwaukee and St. Paul Railway Company and his hospital was an official hospital for that company. In connection with the hospital--a training school for nurses.
Memberships-President of Monroe County Medical Society. Member of the Masonic Fraternity and the Order of Elks.
Family who Survive--Marion Simonson nee (Young) (He married Marion in 1897) One daughter Doris survives him.
According to his wishes--After his death---his body was taken on the next train to Milwaukee and cremated at Forest Home. (Source of information from "The Tomah Journal"2-13-1914) Not related Ann
