I have been researching my family name now off and on for around eighteen months, and agree with Luke Cowley and Tanya Simper regarding the origin of the name. All my findings seem to generate from the town off Beccles in Suffolk, England. My father was from Beccles as were his brothers and sisters. My research goes back to a William Simper (1785). I would like to find information on Williams forebears. Some of my ancestors worked in the printing industry, some I believe are still carrying on in that trade. This is interesting in as much as The Caxton Printing press was set up in the town of Bungay in Suffolk, close to the town of Beccles. Anyone who thinks they may have information of interest, please contact me.

NOTE of interest:- I have a neice named Tanya Simper.
