Hi Elizabeth,
I can not remember if I replied to you via email or not, so I am going to post what I have on Martin Van Buren Wolfe and Virginia Elizabeth "Betsey" Sines.
I show Virginia Elizabeth Wolfe b 5 Mar 1806 d 30 Nov 1874 at Nutter Fort, WV. I have a marriage date of 10 Feb 1824, Sang Run, Garrett, MD. I show Virginia Elizabeth Wolfe as the daughter of Henry Sines 1768 + Louise Clara Wolfe.
I "suspect" Virginia Elizabeth Wolfe would have been born near Lenox, WV as I have a land record for Henry Sines buying property near there in 1804. Interesting enough some of this land was later sold to Leonard Cupp who was Henry's brother-in-law via Leonard Cupp marrying Susan Wolfe a sister to Henry's wife, Louise Clara Wolfe. Also this is the same Leonard Cupp that served in the VA Militia as a Captain when the Sines and he went off to fight the War of 1812.
As a side note, I do not find any evidence that Henry 1768 was ever a Major in the Army or fought in the Battle of New Orleans. I have traced the history of the Militia company formed in Preston county to Point Pleasant, WV , there the company was re-organized and then marched to a Fort whose name escapes me right now in OH near the MI border. This company's tour of duty was six months, and everyone was then mustered out. Now Henry 1768 could have re-enlisted and fought on, but I can find no evidence that he actually did this.
