The information I have seen indicates that "Celia" was one Alice Walker (Celia is an anagram of Alice), and I have been trying to determine her parents. The family at that time was instrumental in the split off of the Methodist societies from what is now the Episcopal Church, and one of Caleb's sisters was married to Judge Barrett who built Barrett's Chapel near Fredericka, Delaware, the first Methodist Church ever built. The Walker family was active in the Methodist movement, and one of the Walker men became a circuit rider, serving in and around what is now Washington, D.C..Walker Chapel United Methodist Church on North Glebe Road in Arlington, VA, is named for him.
