Hello Juanita...I am so thrilled that you responded to this posting!! However, I am afraid so far that I can't see a
connection.:o(
I do have Mary Jane SITZLER(SISTLER), b. 1824 Indiana and a twin sister to my great-grandfather Thomas William "Willie" Appleberry SITZLER.She married John A. HOLLOWAY, a neighbor, in 1840, Monroe County, TN and they had about 6 children that we know of.John and Mary Jane Holloway disappeared after the Pope County, Illinois 1860 Census.
My great-grandfather SITZLER, also married a Holloway....John's sister: Ruth Moab Holloway, both
children of (John) Minter HOLLOWAY and Margery PATE.The whole family migrated from Monroe County, TN to Pope County, IL about 1852.They were joined by more Holloway clan from Rhea County, TN.
Ruth died Dec., 1862 in Pope County, IL and had been caring for her aged parents who were still alive in
1860.Soon after her death (and perhaps her parents, too); her brothers John and Matthew left Pope County, IL either for Webster County, Missouri or Franklin County, Arkansas - after 1865.It is also possible that John and Mary Jane could have moved out of the county, but remained in Illinois.
Could you post your Mary Jane SISTLER's (b. 1841 AL) parents info? That might help to see if there is any connection at all.SISTLER is a rather unusual surname, so in some way, they are probably connected.
Carol
