James SKEHAN & Mary LARKIN, Co. Clare to 1866
James SKEHAN married Mary LARKIN by 1854, in Co. Clare, Ireland.
3, possibly 5, children, including John, Annie & Winifred born b/w 1852 and 1858, in Co. Clare.
James SKEHAN died in 1857, according to Mary's second marriage record.
Mary LARKIN-SKEHAN,aged 36, with John, 12; Anne, 10 & Winifred, 8, arrived in Victoria in 1866.
Mary re-married to Edward John De PORTU or De PORTIE, in 1871, then aged 40 or so.
Her mother, Margaret CASSERLEY-LARKIN, died in March 1883 - Mary then said to be 50.(Note that none of the LARKIN women ever gave consistent ages on their certificates).
Mary died in 1905 and is buried with her second husband at Carlton.
Her daughter Annie SKEHAN married (eventually) William SUTER - large family.
Her daughter Winifred SKEHAN married William HENRY - at least six children.
Also, a Catherine GRAY nee SKEHAN witnessed Mary's second marriage - probably a sister, niece or cousin of her late husband.
Help needed to trace the marriage of James SKEHAN to Mary LARKIN; James SKEHAN's death date and place; issue to the couple; and contact with descendants in Australia sought.
I am the g-g-g-grand-daughter of Mary's sister, Bridget.
Many thanks,
