He fought at the battle of Vicksburg, MS in 1863. He was captured at Vicksburg and sent to Enterprise, MS then paroled at Vicksburg in 1864. His gggggrandfather was Isaac Skelton who also had a son named Amos Andrew born in the late 1700's in Elbert, Co. GA who married Charity Reeves....
