Decendants of Robert Skelton:
Generation No 1
1. Robert Skkkelton was born 1751 in South Carolina, and died 1816 in Madison County Alabama. He married Elizabeth Bobo 1771 in Culpepper County Virginia, daughter of Lewis Bobo and Sarah Solomon; she was born 1756 in Culpepper County Virginia and died between 1758 & 1851 in Patrick Creek Union County South Carolina.
Notes for Robert Skelton:
Robert Skelton served in American Revolution from SC. Militia duty in Brandon's Reg't since the fall of Charleston-Payroll-12 pounds, 17 shillings, 1 pence, 1/2 penny. Filed and was paid for a horse lost in the Cherokee Nation by order of Col. Thomas Brandon in Gen'l Pickena Brigade F65 Degree. Impest by me Lt. William Addington March 10th 1782. SC Archives- Robert Skelton drew 350 Acres government land in lottery 1807 to Elbert Co., GA.
The Skeltons moved to Elberton, Georgia about 1808.
Robert & Elizabeth first lived on Cedar Creek in Pendleton, SC near Savannah River; then moved to Georgia; 1800 records, Elbert County Georgia
