Seeking any information for John Washington Skelton b. 1855 married Lillie (Lily) Irving Bailey. Found information on the Bailey family, but cannot find parents for John Washington.
Lillie Bailey's name will sometimes show Lila, but her gravestone is Lillie.
John lived around Blackstone, VA and was a farmer. He and Lillie had children: Wilton and Milton b 1892, Mary 1889, Minnie b. 1887, Lottie b. 1885, Lewis b. 1893, John Bailey b. 1896, Frances b. 1898, Irene b 1901, Ann b. 1904.
It is possible that John Washington's parents were William F and Letitia (her names shows different sometimes). William was an overseer befor the civil was, a farmer after. William shows in the 1870 Census for Lunenburg VA, with a son John W who would be the correct age, but I cannot prove this fact.
