Your research is so interesting. Thank you.
I believe that Thomas Skelton, manager of Muncaster Castle
at Ravensglass, Cumbria, had land in Branthwaite Manor,
Cumbria, and his son, Thomas Skelton, was born there, and
married Alice Christian, daughter of Deemster John Christian and wife, Margaret Parker. Thomas Jr. died on
28 June 1689 and lived at Braithwaite, Cumbria. The Christian Family were from the Isle of Man where Edward
Christian was the Governor of the Island and lived at
Loughmolla.

Red Skelton was one of my favorite people. Was his ancestor, William Skelton, a Loyalist in the Southern
Campaign, Rev. War? Many Americans were loyal to the king.
I am familiar with Robert de Brus but did not know the
Brus Family were connected to the Skelton Castle of Yorkshire. These were all "Border Families" who gave
horses and men when asked by the crown.

Was the Skelton Rosetta Stone written in Latin?
Thank you, again,
Evelyn
