Susanna Skelton m. Samuel Shaw and they had 11 children: Nancy (b. Jun 1800), William (b. 22 Seo. 1805), Isaac (b. 22 Jul 1812), Enos (b. 15 Oct. 1815), Levi (b. 14 Jan. 1818), Joseph, Wilson, Betsy, Olivia, Rachel, and Hannah. Here are notes I have for Susanna's father, William Skelton: On 24 November 1981 in his writing, "Skelton Family History," Wilson V. Skelton says, "William and Susanna Skelton's oldest son, William (1753-1833), eventually settled in Columbiana County, Ohio, with his wife Anne following service in the American Revolution. In 1921 Francis [sic.] E. Shaw of Garrettsbille, Ohio, published a history of the family of Samuel and Susanna Skelton Shaw. The latter lady was the second daughter of William and Anne Skelton, and Francis Shaw describes her father's experience as a British prisoner of war during the Amercian Revolution as follows:" This writing, although undocumented, establishes Samuel Shaw as the son-in-law of William and Anne Skelton and the husband of Susanna Skelton (1791-1865). However, it is doubtful that Francis (not Frances) Shaw is a daughter of William and Anne Skelton. (1) She is not named in William's will and (2) if alive in 1921, she would have had to be around 120 years old. Perhaps she was a granddaughter." The family descends from the original immigrant John Skelton and his wife, Jane Fearlamb. They were Quakers and for several generations lived in Bucks Co., PA. A complete history of the family is available upon request.
