Bob: Sorry, I haven't gotten back to you sooner. I now have different information regarding my previous request for info on William F. Skelton. At this time based on new info, I'm not sure the middle initial is appropriate. William was married to Sidney Godair, but as for the place, it is undetermined (it may not be Mt. Vernon, IN). He died in Mt. Vernon (killed by a fall from a horse). Possibly he would have been 33 years old. It is reasonable to assume that he probably came from the Knox (Gibson) County Skeltons. Stella Belle Skelton, his daughter was married in New Madrid County, MO (not Mt. Vernon, IN) to Gottlieb Grammp. I have been further enlightened by information that indicates Sidney Godair was part Indian, in so far as her father Jacque Godair was a French fur trapper who married a full-bloodied Indian. If you have any ideas, I would appreciate sharing.

Jim Hull
