Our Skelton's are from Collin County, reputably coming there from Tennessee.
My husband's great grandfather was Joseph Skelton. His grandfather was George Skelton (married to Susan Mary Nelson). His father was Orwell H. (Sweet) Skelton (married to Lizzie Mae Smiley). His parents died when he was 4, so he didn't know much about the Skelton family other than through an Aunt Mary Skelton Bedell.
I think I have notes on family further back.
Joseph Skelton is buried at Murphy. George, Susan Mary, and Orwell are buried at Wylie. Lizzie Mae Skelton is buried at Garland. And, Mary Skelton Bedell is buried at Restland.
My husband's name is Bobby Gene, born 1-9-32 in Tarrant County, Texas. His brother is Tommie Joe, born 12-7-31 also in Tarrant County (I think.)
We live in Dallas. Tommie lives in DeSoto.
