My GGGrandfather Thomas Hawthorne emmigrated to Philidelphia from Nottingham in 1863. One of his daughers (I think either Sarah or Elizabeth)married a Skevington in Nottingham. In the 1880 US Census There are two grandchildern living with them in Philidelphia; H. E. Skevington (granddaughter 14 yrs old) and Henry Skevington (grandson 12 yrs old). Both were listed as born in England, so I suspect Nottingham.

My Hawthorne's were frame smiths and manufactured knitting machines.

I have not found the Skevington's in Nottingham but it would seem we might be searching for the same family.
