I have recently been sent a family tree for the Skevingtons in Nottingham - well at least my part of what is a huge family in Nottingham. On the tree was a William Skevington born oct 1816 in Radford Nott.

The only other info is that he was a lace maker in France and that he died in America. This may be a connection to your family. Have you made any progress with your search? Would be happy to share info if you think this might be a connection. Alec Clark
