I am so thrilled you responded to my Skidmore queries. Although I've worked with Stafford history for many years, I've never attained any familiarity with this particular family. One of my current research projects is the abstracting of the Stafford militia records (1781-1856). My goal is to include brief biographical footnotes for as many of the men as possible. There are numerous Skidmores in these records. Their names and the years they were listed are:

Alexander 1843, 44
Alexander W. 1834, 41
Enoch 1850
Harrison 1847
Harrison G. 1843
Harrison J. 1850, 52
John 1819
Joshua 1822, 24
Robert 1827, 44, 50
Samuel 1847
Thornton 1814
William 1812, 44, 50

Some of these are probably the same men, but I copied the spellings exactly as they appeared in the records. Ideally, I would like to know for each man birth/death years, parents' names and dates, spouses' names and dates, places of residence, and business interests or occupations. If they moved out of Stafford, I'd like to know where they went. If you can shed light on any of these boys I'd be delighted to include the information.
