Gawin Hamilton m. Margaret Skidmore

From the research I've done I would certainly agree that there is a strong circumstantial evidence that Gawin/Gavin Hamilton married Margaret Skidmore ca. 1773 (she was the daughter of Joseph Skidmore Jr.) But I have to remind myself that the term "circumstantial evidence" is just another phrase meaning "best guess."

Has anyone found any primary record that can be considered direct evidence of this marriage? For example, a Skidmore deed or will that refers to Gawin as "brother," etc. I would very much appreciate any pointers to such a record it it exists.
