I have a letter written in 1898 by R. F. Skiff ( Roswell Fayette Skiff, res of Harding Iowa and Elkhorn Wis. He was doing some genenlogy Research for My Grandmother Caroline Kendrick Skiff Blackwell, and Her sister Clarissa Lovinia Skiff Tobey, Dau.s of Josiah skiff and Lydia Nims Skiff. He was born 7 Aug 1800 Brookfield Vt.and there Cousin's Family Sarah Skiff Nichols,Mrs. Paul Himes Nichols dau. Farnny Nichols Harbor, ( Dau; of Obadiah Skiff b.5 Aug 1798 Brookfield, VT. wife Azubah Judd. res. 1850 Warrensburg, Warren Co. NY. res. 1855 Sugar Grove, Kane Co. died in Squaw Grove, DeKalb co. Il2 Feb.1866 sons of Saunders Skiff born Chilmark MA died Charlemont. and Irene Lovina Smith his wife.( my gr. grandfathers notes sometimes she went by Irene sometimes Lovinia.)

he Mentioned writting to Herbert Skiff who drove a Bus, in Trenton,Oneida, NY and his brother Russell, who he added was quite a rover and hard to keep up with. from reading thru Carol Skiff's Information, PLinney Skiff born 1798 on the 1870 Census, is there Father, Albert who died before 1825 son of Pliney Skiff, who married Eunice___________? son of Saunders Skiff and Irene Lovinia Smith is brother to Josiah wife Lydia Nims and Obadiah skiff wife Azubah Judd, Saunders/Sanders Skiff born 180 3 In Chalemont, MA wife Olive Anderson, Nancy Skiff, wife of Wells Ingraham.
I found that Pliny Skiff and Eunice have a son buried at Federal Hill cemetery, in Bolton Landing Warrren Co. NY. George Hovey Skiff bornd.March 1 1828 age 2. Photo in my Grandfather Herbert Blackwell's photo album, and also found on line photos taken by Thomas Dunne, for History of Bolton, Warren Co. New York. graves of Federal Hill cemetery.
