Micajah P. Skiff b1816NY m. 1835 Mary S. Hopkins, d/o Alfred of Pike, NY
Born Jan. 1st Hartwick, Otsego Co., NY, son of D. Skiff. He came to Pike, Wyoming Co., NY in 1816. He was a merchant, justice of the peace, town clerk and collector. Sons Albert and Samuel L. took over his business when he retired in the spring of 1878.
D. Skiff was one of 6 brothers who settled in Hume, Allegany Co., NY, the sons of Stephen Skiff who was a Revolutionary War soldier. Stephen was the son of Joseph & Elizabeth Skiff who were descendants of the Puritans.
Alfred Hopkins, a resident farmer of Pike, Wyoming Co., NY, was of New England birth. Mary S. Hopkins & Micajah P. Skiff were married April 16, 1835.
I'm looking for Alfred Hopkins' wife and ancestors in New England. Is this a Mayflower line?
Any help greatly appreciated!
Thanks, Lee
