I was doing some research on my house and found that Joseph B. Skilbeck owned the property. He settled in Howell, Michigan in 1839. He owned a shoe shop in 1840 and it eventually turned into a general store. His wife was a teacher and they had a son, Pearly, and a daughter. I hope this might be what you are looking for. You can look more up at www.livgenmi.com then click on livingston county historical information (at the bottom). There's a lot to look at but everything has indexes. Hope this helps!!!!!
