I was doing some research on my house and found that Joseph B. Skilbeck owned the property. He settled in Howell, Michigan in 1839. He owned a shoe shop in 1840 and it eventually turned into a general store. His wife was a teacher and they had a son, Pearly, and a daughter. I hope this might be what you are looking for.
