Thank you for your email. I live with my family in St Albans, Hertfordshire, England.
I am married to my wife Mandy and we have 2 sons. Peter & Samuel.
We are looking for my Grandfathers Mother and Father and any people prior to that.
My Mother and Father (Ralph Frederic Skuce) also live in St Albans.
It seems that my grandfather Frederic William Skuce was born on the 12 July 1904 at Hixitwood, Charslbury, Oxfordshire. Which may not be far from where your Grandmother was born.
My Grandfathers parents were Frederick Parsons and Louisa Parsons Formerly Skuce. Reading mails that have been floating around it seems that Louisa is was a popular name at the turn if the century.
My Grand Fathers sisters were
Miss Edith Skuce 21/23 July 1900
Miss Emma Skuce 21 December 1908
Miss Lillan Skuce no date.
I hope this might tie us into some other Skuce's. There are of course other members of my Family which I can sent to any one with some serious interest.
I have been working with Neil Grantham (email@example.com) who has set up an archive for people researching the Skuce family. You may want to contact him or access the archive at using the following instructions.
People can subscribe to the list in mail mode by sending a message to SKUCE-Lfirstname.lastname@example.org that contains the word
and nothing else. If you prefer digest mode, (a daily digest of messages, though I am the only subscriber as yet) you should send the command instead to SKUCE-Demail@example.com To unsubscribe,
You should send the command "unsubscribe" to SKUCE-Lfirstname.lastname@example.org
(if in mail mode) or SKUCE-Demail@example.com (if in digest mode.)
To switch from one mode to the other, you should unsubscribe from one and then subscribe to the other.
You will receive a message back with basically the same instructions plus some list rules etc.
To post messages once subscribed, send a mail to SKUCE-L@rootsweb.com
For a first email, I would ask you to state the area of SKUCE interest you are researching, and in what part of the country/world.
