Hi Helen----I've just recently started once again to look at the Skuse side of my family. I had been looking at the Fall River folks, curious to see if they would tie in. I have an Edward Skeuse (b. 1828 in Butlersgift, Drimoleague) married to Mary Donovan (b. 1832 in Coolmountain, Inchigeelagh). At this point, I do not know how they're connected to my lines. Do you know who Richard's or Catherine's parents were??
Here's a bit of what I have in the database, but I know that I have more info from the Rhode Island state archives & US census that needs to be put in:

1. CATHERINE (?Donovan) She married RICHARD SKUSE.

Occupation: 1844, laborer
Children of CATHERINE and RICHARD SKUSE are:
       FRANKLIN SKUCE, b. Bet. 1846 - 1847.
JAMES SKUSE, b. Abt. 1852, Fall River, Massachusetts, USA.
       JOSEPH SKUCE, b. 1850.
RICHARD SKUCE, b. May 20, 1844, Fall River, Massachusetts, USA.
       A SKUSE, b. 1853.

Generation No. 2

2. JAMES SKUSE was born Abt. 1852 in Fall River, Massachusetts, USA. He married MARY L. PEARSE July 29, 1870 in Wrentham, Massachusetts, USA, daughter of EZEKIAL PEARSE and LOUISA. She was born Abt. 1851 in North Kingston, Rhode Island, USA.

Religion: Roman Catholic
Residence: 1870, Cranston, Rhode Island, USA
Children of JAMES SKUSE and MARY PEARSE are:
FRANCIS J. SKUCE, b. Abt. 1873, Rhode Island, USA.
FANNY C. SKUCE, b. Abt. 1875, Rhode Island, USA.
LOUISA SKUCE, b. Abt. 1877, Rhode Island, USA.

1. Richard Skuce birth certificate, 1844, v. 10, p. 62.
2. James Skuse marriage certificate, 1870, v. 227, p. 361.
