Obituary from the Ex-POW Bulletin, Vol. 37, Feb. 1980: "Harry J. Slagle of Lancaster, SC, was killed Nov. 29, shot in the neck. Slagle, 61, spent 39 months as a prisoner of the Japanese during WWII. He was held at Camp 13, Omuta, Japan."
