Dear Ed

I have a David SLATCHER (baptised 20 April 1834 at Grandborough, Warwickshire, son of David and Fanny nee GILKS) married Ann PHILLIPS in 1857.

David and Ann had children as follows, all baptised at Grandborough: (Baptism years from IGI)

Eliza 1858
Alfred 1860
Susan 1863
Samuel 1864
David 1865
George 1868

I believe that George (bap 1 Nov 1868) may possibly be the "George Herbert Ernest SLATCHER" who married Kathleen SEAGER, by whom several children, including Horace Leonard SLATCHER in London (from whom Josephine SLATCHER, my stepmother).

I await the 1901 census release in January 2002 for confirmation of where our George is listed as being born. The comprehensive 1881 census doesn't list any other likely George SLATCHERs that could fit.

I would be interested in knowing your line.
