Could this include Kentish Slaters as have seen no ref.by anyone. My husband's family were in Cheriton all their lives(Could this have something to do with the "Chelates/shalates" in other post?
Husband's name is Robert James Edwin,(now 76) his father was Robert m to 'Nellie" (Elinore)sp.as given. They had 3 sons and took in a nephew (Reginald) 'as their own'he has gone to Rotorua,NZ many years ago.
John, the eldest went to Sth Africa after retiring from Naval Police.Quite a good artist. Corresponded & thenMet up in 8o's but he was v.ill and passed away in 1985.
THe other brother went to Manchester after a family row when he was 19yrs and lost contact.Did not go to either funeral.
We have a sole daughter and know of no other Slater relatives here or otherwise. Both Rbt.Snr & Nellie are buried at Cheriton. Anyone having other information please contact.
