proto-Arthur of VA and his wife

For everyone still seeing the dozens of trees posted with Arthur mar to Rachel MUIRFIELD or Rachel Elizabeth LAWSON, here it the posting by the man who originally created this nightmare (not me):

Several have asked concerning the last name in regards to Rachel, wife of Arthur Slayden Sr. I have tried and other earlier researchers and others of this forum to locate the surname of Rachel. Lawson was brought up by a lady in Bowling Green, Kentucky of which no records or proof could be found. It was then thought the name was [Rachel Muirfield] which was presented to me...So at this time there is no evidence of absolute proof regarding the surname of Rachel. I had placed the surname [Rachel Muirfield] in my last addition of the book, but forgot to list it as conjecture at this point. Those who have my book may wish to add this to their copy.
Note that these conjectures were plugged into his postings despite that fact that NO evidence of any kind was ever found. Is this the way to do genealogy?
