I am researching the parents of James Vernon Slaton, born in 1879 in Alabama who married Eva Reynolds in 1909 and lived in Bryan Co., OK.

Census records as follows:

April 25th, 26th, 1910 11-TWP, Bryan Co., OK

James V. 30 (states he was born in Georgia)
Evie 18 b. Texas married 6 months

1920 Bokchito, Bryan Co., OK

James V. 39 (states he was born in Alabama)
Eva 27 b. Texas
Gladys C. 3 8/12 b. Oklahoma

1930 Bokchito, Bryan Co.,OK
District 8
h/h #35

James V. (has G.) 49 b. Georgia
Evel 34 b. Tx
Gladys 13 b. OK
Gertrude 9 b. OK
Alfred 1 6/12 b. OK

James and Eva Reynolds Slaton had another son, Alvin D. Slaton b. January 1932 who I am married to. He has liver cancer and wanted me to find out anything I could about his family.

According to census records James V. Slaton's parents are William M. Slaton and Martha E. (Wilson?)

Census as follows:

1880 Lost Creek, Claburne Co., Alabama

Wm 28
Martha 25
*James 9/12 (born Sept. 1879)
Benefield, John 11 (relation unknown)

1900 Indian Territory (later became Oklahoma), Cherokee Nation

William M. 47
Martha E. 46

Charles M. 18
Jessie (female) 16
Etner 13 (Edna)
William C. 11
Newell 7

1910 12-TWP, Bryan Co., Oklahoma

William M. 57
Martha E. 55
Newel Z. 18

1920 5-WD Caddo, Bryan Co., Oklahoma

William M. 67
Martha E. 65

I need to know who William M. Slaton's parents are. Is it James D. Slaton or William Hampton Slaton?

Any help would be greatly appreciated!
