nathan slay was my ggggrandfather and he was married to martha sumrall.they lived in chicora,wayne county,mississippi and are buried in the mt zion cemetery. they came from silas, choctaw,alabama.His son, william carney slay was a minister in silas and married elizabeth shoemaker and their daughter,martha was my great grandmother. she married jt arrington and her daughter exa was my grandmother.exa married james michael brophy and their daughter, anna catherine was my mother. she married robert emerson wolfe of columbus ohio and I was born in hattiesburg mississippi. I have tons o slay/sumrall/shoemaker infor if you would like to have it or need additional infor to fill in blank spots. I am always glad to share what I can and can occassionally fill in a few blank spots where I can.as far as the slave research, i did track some slaves back to the original slaves that nathan had in so. carolina to a jim slay. I think i still have it all and will look for it and see what I can find to post. hope to hear from you..katie
