Bill you also contacted me many years ago, and I worked some of this material into a newsletter. Since then, I have contacted another man, Paul E Slaton who provided me with info about Wm McDaniel Slaten and James Arthur Slaten. These men definitely lived in Cleburne AL before moving over to TX/OK, and some of their families settled in Greer as well.I have photos of both of these men. I do not see a connection yet but you might.
Your material will have been republished by W John Slayton by now.
