Kevin you are the first Black Slayton to respond....seems there was a White Slayton in Ky during slavery period that had a large plantation.....it is possible that all of the Black Slaytons came from his plantation....Ive just started the research....so dont know alot yet.... my e-mail address is jethompson63@juno.com e-mail me direct with your dads birthdates and his parents birthdates if you know them....and possibly where they were born....once I have your e-mail address I can send you my Slayton family....I have back to Leonard Slayton in 1888...gotta find his parents tho..... you must know finding black families is hard and sometime impossible due to the lack of record keeping... NOW let me tell you I am not a Slayton descendant...I am actually Caucasion....however my biracial sons grandmother is a Slayton...thats where my interest lies....Im finding this family and other Slayton info for the benefit of my 11 year old son...as I feel he should know his heritage e-mail me...nice meeting you..
