help! researching Slayton-Ware family in Calcasieu,LA

I am trying to research the Slayton-Ware family in Calcasieu, Louisiana. It is difficult because my mother-in-law was a small child when both of her parents died. This is what I have:
Blanchard Slayton (1898-1929)(killed in a railroad accident?) was married to Minnie Ware (1899-1937)who died in a house fire leaving four orphan children.

I believe Minnie Ware's parents were Willis (1870-?)& Laurza Ware (1870-?) - I have no other information on them.

Blanchard Slayton is not listed in any census - I only have his WWI Draft registration card and a cemetery notation. I believe his father was William "Deb" Slayton and his mother was Mary Willis(Plumblee)(this lady has a VERY interesting/confusing history what I can find).

I'm really interested in any information I can find on any of these individuals.

Thanks in advance to anyone who can help me!
