The Husted/Huestis/Heustis family is from England, arriving in Stamford, CT circa 1635. In Westchester County, some of the family married into French and Palatine German stock ("Dutch" as in Dutchess County, but not Holland.) Confusion as to the origins of the family are in my experience related to the female ancestry rather than the male parent.

The ones in Crown Point were half-relatives of the Reuben I mention. Too long to get into at this time for me.
