Hello to the Slemp forum. I have just discovered all of the various messages regarding Slemps, in VA,TN,TX etc and hope that I might be abvle to help.I live in alberta, Canada and have just compiled a book on the Schlempp family to Kandel, Germany and Sugar Griove, VA.This would be the descendents of Johann Friedrich Sclemp and May Metz. I have a great many sources for this history and am in contact woth the slemp family still living on the original land granted to Johann(Frederick) in 1805. My husbands grandfather was Richard Landon, born in sugar Grove, 7 Mile ford area in 1856. His grandfather was Frederick Slemp, the 6th child of the immigrant couple, Johann Friedrich and Mary Metz.
