TWO things, cousin Mike seems to share the same oral history on Philip Melon SLENTZ, but he still could be a SLENTZ, maybe his mother was just "late" with the marriage to his father, Philip Slentz. Maybe family tensions or matters we do not know about (age?) delayed things. Because of the times, and Philip Melson SLENTZ was known as an out-of-wedlock child, the older would have HAD to ADOPT him to make him a legal heir. ALSO I have for Philip Melon SLENTZ's wife, a birth date of September 21, 1757 and death date of June 24, 1874 Hanover PA.One other VERY ODD thing. WHY does Philip "MELON" SLENTZ have the same middle name as old PHILIP SLENTZS 2nd wife's last name....MELON ? Was old Philip's first wife, NANCY(M/O Philip Melon SLENTZ) also a MELON?? I have her with no last name. LARRY
