Rev. Jeremiah & Sarah I. Slingerland (Native Americans) from Wisconsin
I am looking for more information on Jeremiah and Sarah Irene Seymour Slingerland; Jeremiah was a reverend/teacher, and Sarah was also a teacher in Red Springs, Shawano County, Wisconsin, in the mid 1800s or so. Jeremiah died in 1884 and is buried in Red Springs; Sarah died much later but is not buried with Jeremiah; they had numerous adopted children, whom I think include Annie & Frankie (Francis) Slingerland; Jeremiah Jr. and Henry Slingerland might have been their own biological children. One might have been killed in the Civil War, though I haven't found any records yet. It's believed that Jeremiah, himself, was adopted by the Quinney family in New York, and then they moved west to Wisconsin. We don't know if Jeremiah was 100% Indian or not. Sarah I. was white, I believe, but was adopted into the tribe. My information, here, might be flawed, but if anyone has other or more information, please contact me. Thanks for reading my post.
