My great grandmother was Dinah Smeeton married to John Dennis Newman, had 3 children (1) Frank(or Francis) no off spring, (2) John married Ella Upton 2 offspring Kathleen Margaret and Dennis John.
Then (3) Margaret Alice Married to William Alfred Giffiths,brother of Harold and Jenny Griffiths , whose parents were William Alfred Griffiths and Pheobe Downing. The Smeeton /Newman 's may have originated from Ireland.Possibly County Down, Derry or Amagh.
Margaret and William had a daughter (my mother) Muriel Florence Bodley who married Edmund James Vincent Bodley.Muriel is 91 years old and lives in Wolverhampton. Her father William Alfred lived inToronto, Ohio and Pomroy for several years before returning to England
