More Smeeton information for you

Hi Rosalind

For the record I am from a branch of Smeetons of whom my grandfather was one of six brothers. Up until the early 1970's we met every few years or so at Market Harbrough in Leicestershire for family get togethers of 40 to 50 family members, with the six brothers heading the table. My grand father passed away 16 years ago, as have all his brothers. However, the extended family still meets in Market Harbrough occassionally - for the simple reason that many Smeetons are buried in the village churchyard of Clipston. As I recall, the gravestones go back to the early 1300's. Various family members have compiled interesting info on the family which they bring to the get together.

I myself live in Malaysia and have done so for 15 years, but I hope to attend the next get together, which may be in April this year. If you are interested in learning more about this side of the family, please feel free in dropping me an e-mail at: jeremy@gaafunds.com. I could certainly put you in touch with other members of my immediate family in England who may be able to provide you with more detailed information about the family than I am able to.
