Sandra,

Our line has been in this country since the early 1700's. We belive the date is 1720. All we know is that his name was Jesse Smiddy. His son Ruben Smiddy and he was born in Montgomery CO,VA.
Then they moved to Campbell CO,TN.

Common first names were Ruben,William,Franklin,David, and James.
The last Ruben was my Great Uncle. My Grandpa's name was William Davi Smiddy.
We could have been related to the Smiddy's that you listed due to the William as the first name.

The town that we belive that we come from is Yonegdhal (bad spelling sorry),County Cork,Ireland.

Thanks for the info,
Jodie
