Hi Gerald,

I am from the Jesse/Reuben Smiddy line from Habersham,Stinking Creek,La Follette areas of
Campbell CO. TN.

My family just returned from the Smiddy-Walden Reunion
in LaFollete,TN.

My line is the Caswell Smiddy and Mary Bell Branham.

I met a lot of relatives that live in OH and other places.

I was raised in KY. My Grandpa was William "David"
He and my grandpa came to Crummies Creek looking for
coal jobs.

My grandpa met my granny in Cawood,KY.
My Great Grandpa Cas Smiddy was killed in the coal mines in
of KY and was burried in Hall Cematry in Stinking Creek,TN.
My Grandpa had the following siblings...

He had the following siblings...
Ruben (Rube)
Lundie, who married my granny's brother Wilson Dean

Most lived in TN,KY,VA, right over the Cumberland gap mtn and pass.
Some moved to OH and MI as well.

If you are opf this line I know that we came in the early 1700's first know is Jesse Smiddy in Montgomery CO, VA.

We also are from the County Cork area of Ireland, but do originate from the Isle of Skye. We also have a viking orgin as well. Black scotch as well as Irish.

Email me if you would like,
a distant cousin has a lot of info on this very old line of Smiddy's.
