Printed in the Seneca Courier, Seneca, Nemaha County, Kansas, October 26, 1883: New York Children’s Aid Society The agent of this society, Mr. J[ames] Mathews, landed in Seneca for the second time on Friday last with 22 children - 18 boys and 4 girls. Some of the younger ones are interesting little fellows, and the people who have taken them will care for them as only Kansas people can. Following is a complete list of names: Delia Martin, 18, with N. H. Martin, Seneca Florence Turner, 16, with John Roots Emma Cantrell, 14, and Alfred Cantrell, 11, with E.
