I'm starting research on the SMOLEN and SLOWIK families who have been in Chicago since the early 1900s. The families originated in Poland. Information available as follows. If you have information on this family and would like to share, please let me know.

FRANK M. SMOLEN (b. 6 Sept 1919) married EDWINA MARY SLOWIK (b. 10 Jul 1922) on 26 Nov 1949 in Chicago. Frank M. Smolen died 4 Apr 1997 in Chicago. Frank and Edwina's had three children: JACQUELINE KAREN (b. 2 Dec 1951 in Chicago), FRANCIS "Frank" MICHAEL (b. 26 Oct 1952 in Chicago), and MARYANN (b. 15 May 1962 in Chicago).

Frank M. Smolen's parents were FRANCISZKA "Frank" SMOLEN (b. 2 Feb 1888 in Poland, d. 12 Oct 1957 in Chicago) and ANNA RYGLOWSKA (b. 1 Jan 1893 in Poland, d. 29 Dec 1955). Frank and Anna married 14 Jan 1913 in Chicago. Frank and Anna's children included (besides Frank M. Smolen) SOPHIE SMOLEN, JOSEPHINE SMOLEN, EDWARD SMOLEN, ELEANOR SMOLEN, CHESTER SMOLEN, ROSE SMOLEN. Franciszka "Frank"'s parents were JOHN SMOLEN and HELEN KULA. Anna's parents were THOMAS RYGLOWSKI and SOPHIE KASPRZAK.

Edwina Mary Slowik's parents were STANLEY SLOWIK (b. in Poland) and MARYANN FRYS (b. 3 Feb 1883 in Vilkovisko, Poland, d. 4 Nov 1948 probably in Chicago). Stanley and Maryann were married in Chicago.
Stanley and Maryann's children included (besides Edwina Mary Slowik) JOHN SLOWIK, CHESTER SLOWIK, LILLIAN SLOWIK.

If you think there's any connection, please respond.

Thank you.
