Not my line...

Surgeon on the H. M. S. Cumberland; m. a creole lady named Miss Lascelles; 1744 was surgeon at Downing St., Westminster, London.

Quoted as being, "the humerous, arrogant, red-headed, stiff-necked, thin-skinned scurrilous, brilliant Scots hack of genius."

Not known as a man to suppress his pride. However, more difficult for a Scotsman a the unpopular Lord Bute caused the highlander to be looked upon with disfavor.
