LEONORA Smoot? in Richmond, VA

My great great grandfather was Daniel Cooley who married Sarah Frances Smoot in Henrico County VA in 1866. By 1900, he's married to a younger woman named Leonora. Is it possible that Leonora is also a Smoot? My father recalls his grandmother - Cora Elizabeth Cooley - daughter of Leonora and Daniel, talking about the Smoot family from Richmond, VA as well as the Ellis family from Richmond. Does any of this make sense to anyone?
