Do you know if you have any connection to Armstead or Ira Smoot? The father, Armstead, recieved a land grant in Crawford County, Arkansas in 1838 and the son, Ira, in 1836. Many of their descendants moved to Texas. I had a great-aunt that was married to a grandson of Ira. If this is the right line, I have a lot of info on them.
