Mark,

What is your line of descent from Daniel Webster Byars?

Since my gg grandmother, Mary A. "Mollie" Smoot, is Daniel's step daughter (Daniel was Amanda Stewart Smoot's second husband), I have been doing a lot of Byars research in Grayson, Fannin, Hunt, Nacogdoches, Ellis, Bell counties in Texas as well as the Indian Territory (OK). I have also gone to AR to research the Smoot line, as well as the research in Grayson County, TX.

Do you know what William Smoot's middle name or initial was?. Do you have information about Daniel Byars service in the Civil War?

Thanks,

Howard
